Iris was founded in Victoria in 2021 on a simple idea: real estate and property management can be done better. We're a brokerage and property management company specializing in furnished and executive rentals across Greater Victoria, and we'd rather do a few things exceptionally well than try to be everything to everyone.

LEADERSHIP
Nico Grauer
Founder, CEO & Managing Broker
Nico has been an entrepreneur all his life. He's at his best building something from the ground up, and he's never been satisfied with doing things the way they've always been done.
He started in real estate in 2018 and soon saw an opportunity to do things differently.
In 2021 he founded Iris Properties, a real estate brokerage and property management company specializing in residential real estate and property management. He chose to specialize on purpose, and he built the business on technology, systems and amazing people.
As Iris grew, so did Nico's role. He earned his property management licence, and in 2026 became Iris's Managing Broker. Today his focus is on growth and long-term vision.
He's building the strategic partnerships that will carry Iris into its next chapter, with owners, operators and fellow brokerages who share his commitment to innovation and client trust.
Nico describes his approach as "niche by design, not by limitation." He would rather do a few things exceptionally well than everything adequately.
He isn't building Iris for a quick exit. Nico plans to spend the next 50 years building this company, and every decision he makes today is about laying a durable foundation for the decades ahead.
Based in Victoria, BC, Nico is still pushing Iris toward a bigger vision: a company that can scale without losing the personal touch that got it started.

Alena Oslopova
Property manager
Alena began her career at a large Toronto real estate firm, where she built a strong foundation in real estate administration, client relations and the behind-the-scenes side of buying and selling. She later moved into an executive assistant role, overseeing the care of several local and international luxury estates. What keeps her in property management is trust: owners should have real peace of mind, and tenants should feel looked after.

Jhony Blanco
Head of Technology
Jhony builds the tools that run Iris behind the scenes, so our team spends less time on paperwork and more time with people. From managing properties to keeping owners and tenants in the loop, he looks for ways to make every process simpler and more reliable. Most of his work is invisible to clients, and that's exactly the point. He's happiest when a process that used to take an hour now takes five minutes.

Clara is the reason people find Iris and feel like they know us before we've even met. She leads our brand and website across Greater Victoria, helping owners, tenants, buyers and sellers understand what we do and how we can help. Whether it's showcasing a property, sharing market updates or answering the questions clients ask most, her focus is on making information clear, honest and easy to act on.
